Walt Disney Autographed "BAMBI" Book

"BAMBI" still stands today as a landmark achievement in animated motion pictures.  Here I am pleased to offer this 1941 Simon and Schuster picture book autographed by Walt Disney.   Walt Disney has signed this book with one of the largest of his signatures I've seen in 20 years-- a huge six and a quarter inch long signature.  Always the artist, Walt chose green crayon to compliment the colors used on the book's cover.  The book is especially desirable because it is un-inscribed (Walt has not written "To Bob" for example).  It's pages are illustrated with the famous scenes we all remember from childhood.

1940's Disney Autographs are Uncommon!
Walt Disney first hosted his Sunday night TV show in 1954 and only then became instantly recognizable.  That is why the majority of Walt Disney autographed items date from the 1950's and 1960's.  Requests for autographs were fewer before Disney's TV appearances, and so signed photographs from the 1940's are more rare and valuable.  Also, Walt Disney used two styles of signature throughout his life; cursive style for letters, documents, and most of his autographs for fans, and also his trademark Roman block-printed autograph, similar to the famous Disney company logotype. Because it was slower to sign, Walt used the block signature less frequently, and today genuine examples are much more rare than his cursive signature.

Book measures approximately  11" x 9" (closed).  Book is in good condition; dust jacket shows wear and splits (see photos).  Includes my Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.  Item # 3693, $2795
