Walt Disney Signed Mickey Mouse Letter

It is June of 1966 and Walt Disney is busy with plans for Disney World in Florida and readying his Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and an entire new Tomorrowland for Disneyland.  But he still takes the time to send this letter to thank a fan for sending a gift.  This letter is notable in that Walt mentions that the gift is Mickey Mouse-- his most famous character.  Collectors buy based on emotion, so a mention of Mickey Mouse in a letter written by Walt Disney makes the letter more desirable!

Many historians consider Mickey-  the little guy who can overcome adversity with determination and ingenuity- to be Walt Disney's alter-ego.  Mickey was so close to Walt's heart that for years he personally provided Mickey's cartoon voice.  Walt Disney won his first Academy Award for the creation of Mickey Mouse.  Years later Walt Disney would remind people that the Disney empire "Was all started by a mouse."

The letter, personally signed by Walt in blue ballpoint ink, is written on his WALT DISNEY private letterhead.  Included is the original mailing envelope, also imprinted with Walt Disney's name and the Disney Studio address.  Signed on Walt's desk in his Disney Studio office, the letter measures approximately 10.5" x 7.25" and is in fine condition.  Item # 3573, $3295
