One of the very last Walt Disney Signatures
The death of Walt Disney was monumental loss to the world.  Disney, a cigarette smoker for most his life, was diagnosed with a spot on his lung late in 1966.  On November 7 of that year he entered St. Joseph's Hospital- directly across the street from the Walt Disney Studio- and surgery was performed to remove a cancerous lung.  On November 21st he was released, only to fall ill again and return to the hospital- for the last time- on November 30th.  There he remained until he passed away on December 15, 1966.

This check- among the very last Walt Disney documents ever signed- was signed in his hospital bed on November 16, 1966.  Walt Disney's secretary Tommie Wilck shuttled back and forth from the Studio with important papers to sign, and it is likely she was the one who presented this check to Walt Disney in his hospital room for his signature.   The check is drawn on an Walt Disney's account in a branch in Glendale, California, the home of W.E.D. Entrprises (now known as Walt Disney Imagineering).  Walt has signed using his legal "Walter E. Disney" signature, which he reserved for legal documents.  The check bears the address of the Disney Studio (the studio is on the corner of Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue).   The check is in pristine condition.  Extremely rare.
