Walt Disney's Autograph
with History of How it was Obtained

The Calgary Stampede is a world-renowned 10-day annual festival and rodeo in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, celebrating western heritage with the world's largest outdoor rodeo, a massive midway, agricultural exhibits, and more.  Walt Disney was the Grand Marshal of the Stampede's parade, which is where this autograph was obtained by one of his security detail.  Included is an email from the former owner:

In 1965, Walt Disney was the parade marshal at the Calgary Stampede... My father, Staff Sergeant William A. Lee of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), was attached to Mr. Disney’s security detail and asked him for an autograph to give to me. Having nothing else to write upon, he presented Mr. Disney with his gate pass for the Happy Valley campground which Mr. Disney duly signed.  The autograph has been kept in a folder ever since, and I only discovered it recently in a family Bible... I also have a note attesting to its provenance in my father’s hand and of course remember when he provided security for Mr. Disney when I was just 9 years of age.
