Extremely Rare 1950's Disneyland I.D. Card
Signed by Walt Disney

 An extrememly rare Disneyland I.D. signed by Walt Disney!  The owner's family tells the story best:

".... My father was employed with the Kelvinator Division of American Motors at that time, and went to California to lead the team that was doing the kitchen in the in the Monsanto House of the Future in the Tomorrowland  exhibit. One day, my dad was sitting on an outdoor bench eating his lunch when Walt Disney came over to sit and talk with him. During the conversation he offered to autograph my dad's employee pass..."

The Value of Provenance:  One of the things I strive for on this website is to offer Walt Disney autographed items with the history preserved along with them.  If you ever sell a Disney autograph, you'll receive a higher price if you have documentation detailing the history.  But in the meantime you'll enjoy it in your own collection that much more when you know the background.  That's so much more interesting than a signature on a piece of paper with no history, not to mention what it says about the authenticity of an item when you are provided with names of the people who preserved it all these years- the paper trail.

"The Kelvinator Division of American Motors Corporation designed the “step saver” kitchen (in Disneyland's House of the Future). It was dubbed the “Atoms for Living Kitchen.” Many of the appliances either dropped from cabinets or popped up from the counter. A pop up dishwasher used ultrasonic waves to clean and would also be the storage unit for all of your plastic dishes. Instead of one large refrigerator freezer unit, this house featured three cooling units called “cold zones” that lowered from ceiling cabinets. One zone for regular refrigeration, one for frozen, and one for irradiated foods. Even the storage shelves lowered from the ceiling unit just by pushing a button. Rising from the counter was a microwave oven."

This wallet-size Disneyland I.D. card is printed on card stock and dated April 25 1957.  Walt Disney has boldly signed it in blue ink.  In very fine condition.  Included is the owner's family's email (quoted above), an 8" X 10" color photo of Walt Disney at Disneyland (shown above), and the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.
