Above:  The famous signature at Walt Disney World

Fantasia Book Autographed by
Walt Disney & Associates

When FANTASIA was first released in 1940, it was showcased in only a handful of theaters across the country, and treated more like a major live musical than a film.  Each theater was specially-equipped with Disney's multi-track "Fanta-sound," and even today the film stands as one of Walt Disney's monumental achievements.  FANTASIA was the birthplace of iconic images like Sorcerer Mickey, the demonic Chernabog, delightful Mushroom Dancers, Dewdrop Fairies, and so many more.  And they are all here in this colorful 1940 book which is personally autographed by Walt Disney, Leopold Stowkowski, and Disney artists:

Walt Disney has signed "TO HELEN  MY VERY BEST WISHES   WALT DISNEY."  Walt has signed an ENORMOUS autograph in red crayon using his famous block-printed signature... the signature seen at the beginning of every Walt Disney movie, and the one we drive under upon entering Walt Disney World.

Leopold Stowkowski:  One of the leading conductors of the early and mid-20th century, he is best known for his long association with the Philadelphia Orchestra and his appearance in the Disney film Fantasia. He was especially noted for his free-hand conducting style that spurned the traditional baton and for obtaining a characteristically sumptuous sound from the orchestras he conducted.

Claude Coats: Imagineer and background artist, best known for his conceptual work on the Disneyland attraction The Haunted Mansion. Coats worked as a background artists on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Song of the South, Fun and Fancy Free, Melody Time, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and many more Disney films until becoming a full time Imagineer in 1955.

Ken Anderson:  Artist at Disney from 1934 to 1978.  Partial list of credits:  Art Director on Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia.  Layout artist on Lady & the Tramp, Peter Pan.  Production designer: 101 Dalmatians. Designed major portions of Disneyland.

Bill Justice:  Animator: Fantasia, Bambi, Saludos Amigos, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan. Principle animator of Chip and Dale. Later programmed the movements of Disney audio- animatronic attractions including Pirates of the Caribbean.

Frank Thomas: Animator on Snow White, The Three Caballeros. Supervising animator: Bambi. Directing animator: Pinocchio, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady & the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty.

Willie Pyle:  Assistant animator on Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi.

Bob Jones:  At first a camera operator on Disney animated films, Jones became a model maker at the Disney Studio, and then constructed the pirate galleon ride vehicles for Disneyland's Peter Pan attraction.

Upon seeing this book here, respected Animation Expert Howard Lowery emailed me to say: ..."
It is possible that the Deems Taylor Fantasia book you are offering was signed to and owned by Helen Nerbovig. She was at the studio at that time and the dedication by Bob Jones seems to fit. She married Bob MacIntosh, a background painter. Here is a link to a biography: http://www.animationartconservation.com/discovering-helen-nerbovig.html."

This is a first edition of "Walt Disney's Fantasia," the magnificent 1940 coffee table book filled with color illustrations.
Book measures approximately 13" x 10"  with cover closed.  The book is in very fine condition; no dust jacket.  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.   Fantasia stands as one of Walt Disney's monumental achievements, and owning this personally autographed 1940 Fantasia book would be the jewel in the crown of any Disney collection.  Item # 7674,  $6995
