Walt Disney Autographed
Hyperion Studio Letterhead

The Walt Disney Studio on Hyperion Avenue in Los Angeles was the company's home from 1926 to 1940 and served as the creative hub for the "Golden Age" of Disney animation. It was at this location that Walt Disney and his artists created the iconic character Mickey Mouse, produced the first animated cartoons with synchronized sound like Steamboat Willie, developed the Silly Symphonies series, and brought to life their groundbreaking first feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. As the studio rapidly expanded with new buildings and innovations like the multiplane camera, the cramped, haphazard growth eventually prompted a move to a new, custom-designed studio in Burbank in 1940.

Here I'm pleased to present an extremely rare autographed sheet of Hyperion Studio letterhead!  The letterhead itself is uncommon-- featuring the "Mickey Mouse Sound Cartoons" text and graphics-- but being personally autographed by Walt Disney makes this piece ultra-rare!  I can't remember seeing another in 30+ years.  The autograph is Walt Disney's 1930's style cursive signature; Walt Disney changed his signature over the years.  The 1930's version is used as the basis for the Walt Disney Classics Collection logo (seen at right).

Autographed page measures approximately 5" x 8.25" (entire sheet is present, folded under the mat).

Bonus: Includes an original 1932 Hyperion Studio production drawing from "Mickey's Nightmare" which was previously framed with this autograph. The drawing-- now unframed-- measures approximately 10" x 12".

The Walt Disney autograph is framed as shown above and measures 22" x 18" overall.  Frame shows minor wear.  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate AND the Kenneth Rendell Gallery Letter of Authenticity.  Drawing (shown below) also included.
