Walt & Roy Disney Autographs from
their Boyhood Home, Marceline, Missouri

On July 4th, 1956, Walt Disney made his triumphant return to his boyhood home of Marceline, Missouri for the first time since becoming famous the world over. Marceline left such an impact on Walt as a boy that its main thoroughfare, Kansas Street, had become the inspiration for Main Street USA at Disneyland, and it was the family farm in Marceline that provided Walt with the exposure to all the animals that would later inspire so many of his films.

Festivities during Walt & Roy's 1956 visit included the dedication of a park in Walt's name and a local bathing beauty contest judged by Walt. Four years later Marceline dedicated the Walt Disney School, and eventually Walt even built a miniature Disneyland Autopia in town!

During the 1956 visit, one of the locals asked Walt and Roy Disney for their autographs, and put them in a scrapbook along with two Disney-related newspaper articles from the Marceline Press. Now, 64 years later we open that scrapbook to present to you Walt & Roy's autographs just the way the were signed on that very special 4th of July, 1956. The signatures are in fine condition; tthe scrapbook has been mounted and framed under glass.  A a rare opportunity to buy both Walt and Roy's autographs and know when and where they were signed; in the town whose inspiration is apparent in so many Disney films and every Disney theme park.  Framed to an overall size of 18" x 15".  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.  Item # 5366, $3695
