Walt Disney Signed Letter
Written the Year Disneyland Opened!

On his personal "Walt Disney" embossed letterhead, Walt thanks renowned southwest painter Pete Martinez for a painting.  Walt Disney has signed the letter in bold, thick fountain pen ink.  The letter is written just three and half months after Disneyland's grand opening. 

Pete Martinez (1894–1970) was an American cowboy artist who studied art at the California School of Fine Art in San Francisco and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art in Philadelphia.  A cowboy himself, he became best known for his paintings and sketches of cowboy life and the desert landscapes of Arizona.  Martinez rode with the horse cavalry in World War I and then went onto become a jockey, a cowboy and a riding instructor in addition to artist.  In 1935 he moved to Tucson, Arizona and opened a riding stable and art studio, where he lived until his death in 1971.

This typed letter is in very fine condition.  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.
