Many people don't realize that the original name of the Disney Studio was the Disney Brothers Studio.  There is no question that financial expertise of Walt's brother Roy was critical in building and holding together the Disney Company during Walt's lifetime and after.  Roy O. Disney passed away in 1971, just weeks after overseeing the grand opening of Disney World.

 A Roy O. Disney signed AND NOTARIZED Disney Studio legal document.  In this 1955 document Roy O. Disney clarifies that a film formerly known as UNLUCKY LOGGERS is now known as UP A TREE.  The film is being pledged as collateral for a loan from Bank of America.  When the Disney Studio borrowed money to make a film or television episode, the bank required the film itself to be put up as collateral. 

In addition to being personally signed by Roy O. Disney, the contract is also embossed with Walt Disney Productions corporate seal AND signed and witnessed by a notary public who also embossed it with their seal.  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate and an 8" x 10" photo of Roy and Walt suitable for framing.  Document in very fine condition; usual file holes.  Measures approximately 8.5" x 14".  Item # 9794, $995

    A seven page 7/15/57 Distribution Contract between Walt Disney Productions and it's distribution company Buena Vista Film Distribution for the motion picture "NIOK."  The contract is personally signed by Disney Studio co-founder Roy O. Disney on page two as President of Walt Disney Productions. "NIOK", a "People and Places" short subject originally released theatrically in 1957 was edited and shown on television in 1959 in an episode of "Walt Disney Presents."  Filmed in the jungles of Cambodia, the film details the relationship between Chinese village boy Ayot Van Koen and his beloved pet, a 6-month-old Indian elephant named Niok.  In very fine condition with usual staple and file punch holes at top.    Measures approximately 8.5" x 11".  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity.  Item #  3773B, $995
