Walt Disney Autographed Donald Duck Cel
An actual production cel from "How To Play Golf"!

Walt Disney personally autographed this cel for James Childs, the Treasurer of the Florida Citrus Canners Cooperative-- the Donald Duck orange juice people!  The Cooperative still makes Donald Duck orange juice today, under the new name "Florida's Natural."   Walt Disney has autographed this original production cel from the 1944 Donald Duck cartoon short:

Included is a letter by the daughter-in-law of James Childs discussing the history of this piece and the association with Walt Disney and Donald Duck orange juice.

This is an uncommon piece.  Most often Walt Disney gave signed prints-- not original cels-- as V.I.P. gifts.  And this wonderful cel is of Walt Disney's Donald Duck no less.  On the back of cel is the original Disney Studio/Courvoisier Galleries 1944 Authenticity label, stating:  

"This is an original painting on celluloid, actually used in the Walt Disney Production of "How to Play Golf."  It is on of a select few that have been released to art Collectors.  The remainder have been destroyed."

Courvoisier Galleries was the official distributor of original Disney Studio animation art to collectors.  Walt Disney has signed in his famous block printing, the signature that forms the basis of the Disney Company logo.  Cels are trimmed to outline of figures as was customary when Disney cels were prepared for display after production.  Placed against a hand painted display background. 

Framed to an overall size of approximately 16.5" x 16".  Mat shows overall age toning; frame shows wear.  Some ink/paint bleed in Donald's hat; cel is in very fine condition overall.  This is both a terrific original production cel from a classic Disney Donald Duck cartoon AND an authentic Walt Disney autograph signed for one of Donald Duck's "business associates"!  A fantastic showpiece!  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.  Item # 8783, $5995
