Walt Disney & Roy Disney Legal Signatrures

This legal document is signed not only by Walt Disney, but also his brother Roy O. Disney!

Many people don't realize that the original name of the Disney Studio was the Disney Brothers Studio.  There is no question that financial expertise of Walt's brother Roy was critical in building and holding together the Disney Company during Walt's lifetime and after, until the opening of Walt Disney World.  Roy O. Disney passed away in 1971, just weeks after overseeing the grand opening of  Disney World. 

This legal document would have transferred thousands of Walt Disney’s stock certificates to Bank of America as collateral for a loan-- but the document was never fully executed to complete the transfer.  This rare document has the full legal signatures of both Walter E. Disney and his brother and business partner Roy O. Disney.  The Disney brothers signed as Trustees under the Walt Disney Productions Voting Trust Agreement dated December 1, 1945.  While this certificate refers to stocks issued in 1945, this transfer of stocks appears to date from the 1950s judging by the style of Walt Disney’s signature.  Loans from Bank of America financed Disney projects for several decades, and when Disneyland opened in 1955 a Bank of America branch was the very first building encountered on the east side of Main Street USA.

 Document measures approximately 7“ x 8“ and is in very fine condition with a dark blue ballpoint Walt Disney signature and a bold fountain pen Roy Disney signature.  Document is affixed to a piece of card at the four corners.  Includes the Phil Sears Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.  Item #1714  $11,995
