Walt Disney Signed Postcard!

Walt Disney was "Chairman of the Pageantry" for the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, California, producing all the entertainment and spectacle expected of the international games.  One lucky family was lucky enough meet Walt Disney and get his autograph!  Included is an email from the original owner: 

"My sister and I are looking to sell our postcards that Walt Disney signed when we were kids.  We were up in Squaw Valley/Lake Tahoe during the Olympics (some 60 yrs ago)… we were in a restaurant with our parents and I said to my mom, “Is that Walt Disney?”  And she said yes…go have him autograph these postcards for you. So we did and have had them all these years..."

The family received two autographs that day.  This offer is for one of them (inscribed "To Christi").

The Value of Provenance
One of the things I strive for on this website is to offer Walt Disney autographed items with the history preserved along with them.  If you ever part with a Disney autograph, you'll receive a higher price if you have documentation detailing the history.  But in the meantime you'll enjoy it in your own collection that much more when you know the background.  That's so much more interesting than a signature on a piece of paper with no history.  Not to mention what it says about the authenticity of an item when you are provided with names of the people who preserved it all these years- the paper trail.  This is not just a Walt Disney autograph, but a story of when and where the former owner met Walt Disney and speaks to Walt's international reputation as "Showman of the World." 

This autograph includes the Phil Sears Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate, and also the email from the original recipient.  Also included is the color 8" x 10" photograph shown at the top of the page.  Slight rubbing to the "i" and "s" otherwise very fine condition.
