Walt Disney autographed OLD YELLER Big Golden Book

Walt Disney has boldly autographed this Big Golden book of one of his most successful live action films!  Across from the title page Walt Disney has signed his name with a giant 5 inch long autograph in brown crayon. 

When signing art like this Walt Disney would choose a colored pencil from his desk which complimented a color in the print.  (A photo I took of the colored pencils on Walt's desk is shown at right.) 

Old Yeller is a 1957 Walt Disney film based on the novel by Fred Gipson.  The story follows a young Texas boy, Travis Coates, who takes on the responsibility of running his family’s farm while his father is away on a cattle drive. A stray yellow dog, which they name Old Yeller, appears and quickly earns the family’s love by proving to be both loyal and courageous. Over time, the bond between Travis and Old Yeller deepens as the dog protects the family from various dangers, including wild animals and thieves.

Old Yeller became one of Disney’s most beloved live-action films. It was praised for its heartfelt storytelling, strong performances (especially from Tommy Kirk as Travis), and emotional depth. The film’s tragic yet powerful ending left a lasting impact on audiences.  Old Yeller was a box office hit and helped solidify Disney’s reputation for quality family films beyond animation.

The book is fragile and worn overall with archival tape repair holding spine together and archival tape holding autographed page in place.  Some foxing, and extraneous writing below the "W" in Walt Disney's signature as shown.  Book measures 12.5" X 9".  Includes the photo shown at top and the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.
